This piece, shows everything that I am inside and out. From the city I was born and raised in. To the woman I have become from my past, present and future. To the old school music that replay in my mind. To the beliefs of freedom and rights in this world. And to the self-love that has grown over time.
This semester I worked on an assignment where we create a art portrait by showing our identities through our color, where we live, religion, class, our femininity or masculinety or something that describe us as a person. For my identity, I lived in the great city of Atlanta with hottest summers and beautiful flowers flying in the air. That my femininity is my power of showing men that I can do anything in a female body. That as a black woman, I let my color show with beauty and power. That old school music, is the raps and songs that brings the community together and bringing back the good old days. That having your business as a nanny, helps you get closer with people and becoming more responsible in taking care of kids and enjoying your jobs. All of these, is what makes a person. These things made me. A black and wonderful woman who will achieve a future.
