Empowerment conference

For the empowerment conference my topic is animal testing abuse. I have a video and a short speech. I cant put the video here because its blocked, but here is my speech. animal testing abuse, when people test products and do experiments on different animals, that is abuse. In the United States animals are allowed to be burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved, drowned, addicted to drugs, and brain- damaged. These are the types of things that happen to innocent animals everyday. Some of these animals being tested include primates, dogs, rats, mice, rabbits, pigs, fish, and cats. According to Peta.org a legitimate website more than 100 million animals suffer and die every year in the U.S due to cruel chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics tests. 92% of experimental drugs that are safe and effective when tested on animals fail in human clinical trials because they are too dangerous or don’t work. These are Qoutes fom doctors that dont agree with animal testing inlcude “I don’t think animals should suffer for our benefit. Animals may be less intelligent than humans but they still have emotions such as fear and can feel pain.” – Internal Medicine, US. “It is cruel to use innocent animals for genetic engineering and drug testing. The guinea pig may suffer a malformation or side effects of the drug injected into it… or it may even die in the process. It may benefit humans but it is inhumane!” – Pulmonary/ Respiratory Medicine, India . “I think it’s not essential, but I do not deny it was useful in the past. Surely thanks to the possibilities available by today’s science, the experiments on animals seem old-fashioned and even more cruel.” – Infectious Diseases, Italy These are the things that happen to these animals being tested in labs. My speech will be different because, I will change it a little.
