World Literature
Recipe Cards Project
For the World Literature portion of this project, we were all split into groups of four or five people and we all created recipes using dishes from our culture. I did this project individually due to the fact that I had to switch class periods at the start of the second semester, though I still effectively completed this project. I came up with a chicken pizza which combines my Arab and Italian heritage together. I created a recipe card as well as an actual sample of a chicken pizza and both of these things were shown at a PBL showcase specifically for this project. My project had very high reviews and was a hit.
ChemVAS Art
Ceramics Project
For the art portion of this project, we were required to make pottery based off of table food that was related to the Columbian Exchange. I worked with Joshua Washington and Nehemiah Melvin, and we created a fufu tray which incorporated the contributions of African culture in the Columbian Exchange. We used several art techniques that we learned such as slabbing, scoring, slipping, blending, and pinching. The fufu tray ended up being very high quality, and we were very pleased with our project.
