Artist Idol Project
Description: The Artistic Idol project was our final project of the year and we were instructed to research any artist we would like and create an artwork inspired by them. I researched Vincent Van Gogh and created a painting that was inspired by Starry Night, but in the daytime.
It's Elementary
Description: For this project, I went through several steps to create a final image. First, I was given my element for my project, lutetium, and I researched it. I found that it was used in multiple fields like the medical industry, the creation of phones, and radiation, and from that I created 3 sketches. The sketches I created were of a hospital, a phone, and a nuclear bomb, and I chose the hospital to create my final photo on photopea. Lutetium is used in fields like the medical industry, phones, and radiation therapy. My inspiration for this photo was photos of real life hospitals, since hospitals were the easiest to adapt into a photo. I used linear perspective to create the hospital and the ground underneath the hospital, and I used atmospheric perspective to create the background to the hospital. I liked that the process was digital, even though it’s not my preferred method of art. If I would do it again, I would make higher quality sketches.
ChemVAS Typography
Description: For this project, I had to collect data using a poll of my class, I had to research and prototype, and I made a physical drawing on paper of one of my prototypes. For this project, I did not learn very many new tools, but Iearned how to use photopea and sketchpad. My drawing uses almost entirely straight lines, and it uses color and value to stand out. I liked that the assignment was new and fun, but I disliked how I rushed the background. In the future, I would not rush the background.
Skittles Data Visualization
Description: For this project, we were required to collect data on different categories; first skittles, then next a category of your choice. For the skittles, we tracked how many and the types of skittles we obtained and we graphed out the data. For the category I chose, I chose favorite types of soda. I held a survey of my chemistry class, and using that data I created a new type of two liter based off of the responses.
