My Name is Cristal Jordan. I love family, friends, and myself of course. I love learning about film and recording short films outside of school. I have been a student at Drew Charter Schools, commonly known as Drew, since elementary school. During this time, I have experienced so many things that have benefited me significantly. Drew has taught me that although it is a small school, it has a HUGE impact. I've created so many amazing relationships with my counselors, students, and teachers. I love my middle school mentees, and I will miss them so much once I graduate in 2026. I plan on persuing my film study at Georgia State University. I want to be the next Issa Rae, creating my own films and making my own production studio. Since elementary school, I have grown from a quiet and timid student to a person who has outgrown my own quietness. I want to give my biggest thanks to all my teachers, mentors, friends, family, and mentees, for keeping me on my toes and building such impactful relationships.
Looking ahead, my mission is to channel my leadership experience and personal story into the world of film and media. Upon graduating high school, I plan to continue my education at the University of West Georgia, where I intend to immerse myself in film studies to master the craft of visual storytelling. My ultimate ambition is to build a legacy in the industry by launching my own full-scale production company and owning a private studio, creating a space where authentic stories—like the ones that shaped me—can be told without compromise.
To bridge the gap between my studies and the professional world, I am actively working toward securing a paid internship with The HBCU. Gaining hands-on experience at a studio that understands the importance of community and culture is a vital step in my journey. By combining my academic training with real-world industry insights, I aim to develop the technical expertise and business acumen needed to become a powerhouse in production and a mentor to the next generation of creators.
I wanted to go to school so bad! My older brother went to pre-school while I stayed at home with my Grandma. I was too young to go to pre-school at the time. So while at home, I learned the alphabet, vowels, and how to count to 100, to prove that I was ready to go to school with my brother!
In Pre-K I had a teacher named Ms. Boone. She was so kind and sweet. Every time I needed help, she was willing to help me no matter the circumstance.
When I was in kindergarten, I learned how important it was to build good relationship with friends. This is my friend, Avery! I love her deeplyyyyyy <
The 3rd-6th grades were my favorite years of my Drew Charter experience. During these years, I met Ms. B. Jones. She set me up for success in middle school.
The 8th grade was the year we returned to the school after isolating during the COVID-19 pandemic. My teacher was Mr. Martin. In his class we learned a number of things from social studies raps, emotional health, and living in the moment. it wwas so much fun.
My 9th grade year was probably the hardest year for me. Highschool hit me like a ton of bricks, and I struggled with keeping up with my work. But having teachers like Bennett and Ms. Garner made my year so much better. They taught me that it's okay to fall behind but as long as you can get back up and move forward, everything will be okay.
I took this picture on a school trip to Tennesse. During this trip, we toured colleges like Fisk University, Vanderbilt University, and Tennessee State University among others. I met a lot of college students. This was an amazing trip, and I had so much fun with my friends and mentors.
This trip made me realize how important it was to build relationships with your teachers and peer leaders.
This picture was at my best friend's birthday party. The 10th grade was filled with fun activities like going to birthday parties, walking the beltline, and watching science-based movies, like those on Gas Laws.
This is just a picture of me with an outfit i put together. My shoes are custom made by me with a shoe making class I attended.
This was a trip to NYC that the school took us on. I loved this trip so much and was beyond grateful for the people I met throughout the trip.
I had the opportunity to be on set with Latto for her tour advertising. I had so much fun and cried when I met her! Thanks to my mentor Coach Trav.
This was a bitter sweet moment, I finally realized my school journey is coming to an end.

This year I had the pleasure of recording numerous films such as our Xavier Hallway.
