During the first semester, we completed several presentations and activities. In this project, each student was assigned a country in the Hispanic world, nad researched a problem affecting the citizens of that country, using local news sources and research. I investigated the city of Quetzaltenango in Honduras, where trash accumulation was impacting life for residents. The situation was caused by protests in the valley around the city's landfills, and as of 2022 had not been resolved. There was talk of creating new landfills, and short-term measures of using lime chemicals on the trash to reduce its impact, but no substantial progress had been made in negociating or cleaning up the city.

Un proyecto durante el primero semestre era una presentación para clasa. Yo investigué una problema en Honduras, en particular en Quetzaltenango, un ciudad muy grande. Esté ciudad tiene problamas con la colleción de basura, y eran 800 tonnes de baura en las calles de la ciudad.

One project which I completed during the second semester was a presentation on Frida Kahlo. For this, I collaborated with a classmate, and we researched her artistic and personal life, culminating in a presentation to the class. This was useful for learning to use the past tense in Spanish, and about various art styles which came up in the research. Additionally, Kahlo had a fascinating, if difficult, life.

Un proyecto durante el segundo semetre de este año era un presentacíon. En un grupo de dos, creeron un presentacion de Frida Kahlo, para presentar en clase. Aprendí estilos de arte y factos de la vida de Kahlo durante mi investigacíon. Tambíen, el proyecto era importante porque practicé el tenso preterito. El problema más dificíl era la problema de crear un obra de arte origional en el estilo de Kahlo.
