In algebra II, we are learning about Factoring Fractions all the way to different types of functions. Algebra is a fun way to challenge myself and I have learned a lot from the class.
For Personal fitness and Health class, we are learning the health and importance of Health to our body.
We also had to create an exhibit for everything we learned in Health. Here is my exhibit.
AP is a good way to challenge myself because the class is more difficult than a normal Social Studies class. We are learning about the Paleolithic era all the way to the present.
In Chemistry, we are being taught about the different elements and properties. We are also learning about the different Molecules and how they are used, as well as Molar chemistry, the PH of acids and bases, and Nuclear Energy.
ChemVAS Cooks! Project
In chemistry and art, we learned about how the art of baking related to those subjects. My dish was Monarita pizza, and it taught me the chemistry of making pizza and the chemistry of digital photography. Here is the final slideshow and video for this project.
In ELA, we are learning about the arts of literature and writing a book to become a published author.
We also made an empowerment video for the empowerment conference where Falon Kelley and I made a video about what we care about and what our identity is. We chose to do the Taking care of yourself, which includes self-love, self-worth, and self-motivation.
In our class so far, we have done a lot of projects, including writing, speaking, and reading. We practice on garbanzo and duolingo, as well as in class speaking prompts and a lot of collaborative assignments that include games, being put into breakout rooms, and we talk to other students quite often.
In Visual Arts, we are learning about textures and how to put the different textures together. We also learn about the recycling of fiber arts and the art of molecules. This class is tied into Chemistry, so we often make projects that relate to what we are learning in Chemistry at the time.
My fibers scrapbook was very interesting because it is so abstract. They were very different colors, materials, and texture incorporated into mine. This relates to art because you can make this in art and it is very creative. In math, you have to know the measurements so it all can fit. Fibers and textiles can relate to engineering because you can construct different objects and make different, creative things using the fabrics and different textures of the textiles.
For our STEAM project, the theme was about Social justice. My character, Scarlet is trying to spread awareness about bullying. We go and help the people of the Indus River Valley civilization after their city was flooded by the Spanish Invaders.
For the second half of this two-step project, we had to create a digital art piece that related to any of the Gas laws we learned in chemistry. I chose to do Charle's law, in which the hot air balloon related to the volume, and the sun related to the temperature. This formula is V1/T1 = V2/T2, with the hot air balloons on top (V1 & V2) and the sun at the bottom (T1 & T2).
