After weeks of designing, prototyping, and collaboration in our anatomy class we created a model of a full skeleton that accurately depicted the skeletal system. Adia and Jaylon were responsible for making the ribcage, Mekhai and Najla were responsible for making the spine, and Kayla was responsible for making the skull. With previous knowledge from the engineering pathway, our group was able to create many major parts of our skeleton. We utilized our schools 3d printers to create the skull, ribcage, spine, and limbs. Our first print was our skull which we printed larger than our intended 1/3 scale. After this print we perfected our scaling and printed the ribcage/spine along with the limbs to scale. We used air-dry clay to sculpt the legs below the knee as we had trouble with failing prints. We hot glued our indivual parts together to create our final skeleton. Throughout this process we learned the proper names for the parts of the skeleton, how to scale a skeleton down, and how to properly use a 3D printing machine.
