In the picture above, I have a rollercoaster that is labeled. The upper arrow represents the relative maximum and the lower represents the relative minimum. The stars represent the zeros and the diamond shape labels the y- intercept. As x goes to the right it goes near positive infinity. As x goes to the left, it goes near negative infinity. Polynomial functions can be found in rollercoasters if you look at all of the key points on it. It can be as simple looking at the maximum (highest point on the rollercoaster) or the minimum (lowest point on the rollercoaster).
