Aligned Industry Credential: National Incident Management System and Law and Public Safety Introductory Competency This course provides basic career information in public safety including corrections, emergency and fire management, security and protection, law enforcement, and legal services. FEMA certifications NIMS 100,200, 700, 800 are also a part of this course. Additionally students will develop a personal plan for a career in public safety. The course includes skills in each area, using resources from the community to help deliver instruction to the students. English language arts are reinforced.
Public Safety II | Prerequisite: Public Safety I
Aligned Industry Credential: Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and NECI 911 Basic Communications This course provides a deeper level of understanding of career information in public safety by focusing on the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) Certification. CERT is a Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) developed certification that incorporates all areas of public safety. Additionally, FEMA ICS300 Intermediate Incident Command System is covered in this course.
