Parent, "Why am I not receiving notifications from the school if my child has been absent?"

JSYK #1: There is a phone call from the school every day that your student has missed school. If you have not recently changed your number and the phone number, we have on file for you is correct, check your phone to see if the school phone number has been blocked? 

JSYK #2: There is a 6 day and 10-day attendance letter that is sent home when your student has missed that specific number of days or more of school. If you are not receiving these letters, please let us know.

JSYK # 3: PowerSchool has an app that can enable you to check academics and attendance from your phone. If you do not have PowerSchool access and you are the parent or guardian with legal custody (makes decisions for the well-being of a student), please email Rhonda Cooley, Data Manager at Rhonda_Cooley@dpsnc.net.
