Welcome to Morehead's Art Page!

A message from Ms. Weaver

Making art can be a relaxing activity, something we all need. Take some time for yourself everyday to do something artful. Notice the flowers, insects, leaves or other thing in nature, make a silly doodle for the day, draw yourself, your family, your pet or an object you like. Watch a video tour through one of the great art museums or monuments of the world.

I am thinking about you every day!

Save stuff!

There are lots of things around the house that you might throw away or recycle that can be used to make art at home.

Ask your parent of guardian if you can have a box, bin or bag to save items in for later use., and make sure it is okay to save these items.

Here is an ongoing list of items to set aside. If they are plastic, be sure to wash with soapy water, and dry.

Egg crates, magazines and ads from mail, vegetable plates, mesh bags, tissue, cereal and other thin cardboard boxes that held food, toilet tissue tubes, foil, food wrap tubes, plastic lids, one or two milk jugs, clean milk cartons, clear plastic containers, with labels scrubbed off….

I found that I did not have crayons at home. I do not have glue but I have tape. I do not have colored paper, but I have some adds that came in the mail that have some color. I can draw on the back of recycled papers. I asked people in the neighborhood if they would donate some crayons to me. A few hours later some arrived in my front yard! After three days I brought them in. Now I can do crayon rubbings.

Many of you may not have many art supplies at home, so I will try to give you activities that do not involve paint, or other special art materials. We are all limited, but there is still a lot we can do, if we think creatively. No paper? Use brown paper bags, or draw with washable marker on a plastic surface.

Enjoy your hunting for materials! Perhaps make a small space at home where you can arrange your art materials.

More later! Stay safe! Love, Ms. Weaver
