Dear Parents/Guardians,
In light of recent events, we will be moving to an online platform for learning. In order for this to be successful, we will need to work together to achieve our goals. To assist with any troubleshooting questions please be sure to see the attached documents. Here you will find a one page information sheet with timeline information, help desk contacts and zoom links. In addition, you will find a powerpoint with instructions on how to access your student’s dpsnc email address as well as Google classroom.
Through Google classroom your student will be able to find all assignments under the tab “classwork” located at the top of the page. All assignments will be in separate subject tabs within the classroom labeled “Mrs. Hale’s 3rd Grade”. Work will be posted weekly and your student will be responsible for completing assignments by the due date.
The objective for each week will be posted on the “stream”. You will notice the week of 4/6-4/10 the classwork and assignment load will be light. This is by design. I want you and your student to get comfortable with this platform and feel free to ask any questions along the way. We will increase the workload in subsequent weeks, but you can’t build a house without a solid foundation! So, please login to our google classroom by Wednesday 4/8 to hit the ground running.
I will be hosting office hours weekly. If you or your student have any questions, I will be available via zoom conferencing on Wednesdays from 12-2pm. You will be given a link (see attached one pager) to access this meeting time. This will be a recurring meeting time, the link will work for the duration of our time away from campus so be sure to save the link. I encourage you to access this link on Wednesday 4/8 for an introduction/ Town Hall meeting. Here you will be given the opportunity to ask questions and I may be able to assist your student throughout this process.
Please know I am not asking for perfection from you or your student. What I do ask is we all work together to navigate the current academic environment and allow for patience, grace and kindness toward yourself and your student. These are unprecedented and challenging times, but I am confident we can come together and work in the best interest of your student's academic success.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hale
