The Office of Advanced Academics will nurture potential (K-12) and open doors of opportunity for students throughout the school community advancing inquiry, fostering growth mindset, promoting transferable skills, and encouraging differentiated teaching and learning environments which allow students to excel in intellectual, academic, and personal pursuits.
Areas of Identifications:
AIG: Academically and Intellectually Gifted.
AG: Academically gifted, reading and math.
AM: Academically gifted in math.
AR: Academically gifted in reading.
IG: Intellectually Gifted
The AIG Specialist will work with classroom teachers to consistently provide all K-2 students a nurturing program with intergrated lessons that build each year around critical thinking, collaboration, creative thinking, and problem solving. The primary focus is on developing academic potential in all students through balance of whole group and focused small group instruction led by the AIG specialist.
AG, AIG, AM, AR, IG will be served in one or more the following ways:
pull out for a portion of the literacy and/or math block with AIG Specialist.
cluster grouped with other students identified in the same area.
Inclusion (push-in) with AIG specialist and classroom teacher.
subject or grade acceleration.
