Dear Parents,

Greetings to you!

As we wrap up another eventful month, DPS Lava is proud to share our latest achievements, celebrations, and initiatives with our community.

Our students recently completed their mid-term assessments with remarkable dedication. It’s inspiring to see the hard work and focus each student demonstrated, showcasing their commitment to academic growth and excellence. The assessments also provided invaluable insights to help tailor support for each student's continued success. We will have a student-led conference in the first week of November after the Diwali break.

The spirit of Dussehra and Diwali was celebrated with enthusiasm and reverence. Vibrant decorations, Garba performances, and activities like diya decoration, rangoli making, and fort making brought festive joy to campus, allowing students to immerse themselves in cultural heritage while building a sense of unity and pride.

Daan Utsav: In the spirit of giving, during our Joy of Giving week, we have encouraged students to embrace compassion by donating to various causes, fostering a deep sense of empathy and social responsibility. The food items brought by the students were donated to Gramseva Sangh Child Academy - A Non-formal School, School for disabled children run by Matru Seva Sangh and Old Age Home.

Excursion to Hyderabad: Grade X and XII students enjoyed an enriching excursion to Hyderabad. The trip provided a blend of learning and adventure, with visits to historic sites and interactions that broadened their understanding of culture and history. The students were able to connect their lessons to the artefacts kept at the Salarjang Museum and Golconda Fort. These experiences outside the classroom are essential in shaping well-rounded, inquisitive minds. The students were without gadgets throughout the trip and took care of their mates like family. We received heartwarming feedback from the tour operator, the hotel staff and co-travellers on the train. My heartfelt appreciation to all the students. Such feedback and appreciation from others confirms that DPS Lava is imparting the right values to our students.

Sports Achievements: Our young athletes made us proud this month with outstanding performances in badminton, archery and taekwondo. Their dedication to training and discipline was evident, as they brought home well-deserved accolades. In the CBSE Archery Tournament, our girls' team bagged a Silver medal.  In the state archery championship, our students shone by bagging bronze medals. In the State Taekwondo championship, 3 girls from our school in the U-17 category won gold medals. We applaud their achievements and look forward to their continued success in upcoming competitions.

Growth Gurus: Our Coordinators and Heads of Departments attended a transformative Leadership Retreat designed to foster teamwork, strategic planning and visionary leadership. The experience of coffee brewing at Corridor Seven was out of this World. Our Director, Mr Siddharth Rajgarhia took that as a metaphor and made us all compare all the processes that we have in school to coffee brewing. His motto was to take the school from "Good to Great".  This retreat strengthened our commitment to nurturing a holistic learning environment at DPS Lava and provided valuable tools to lead our school community with resilience and purpose.

As we move forward, DPS Lava remains dedicated to engaging our students in meaningful experiences, celebrating their achievements and guiding them toward personal growth and responsibility.

Here's wishing you and your family a prosperous festive season

With warm regards

Anupama Sagdeo
