My name is Lyly Zaragoza, and I’m a proud Denver native, born and raised! I’m also a proud graduate of Denver Public Schools, so being able to teach and give back to the community that helped shape me is really special. I live in Westminster with my husband, Jaime, our daughter, Lyla, our dog, Loki, and our two cats, Zuko and Levi. Our house is always busy and full of a little bit of chaos, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I earned my Master’s degree in Multilingual Education from CU Denver, and bilingual education is something I’m very passionate about. As a former bilingual student myself, I want my students to feel proud of their language, culture, and everything that makes them who they are! Before coming to Trevista, I spent five years as a classroom teacher and two years as an instructional coach and reading interventionist. I learned so much during my time as a coach, but it also reminded me how much I missed having my own classroom! I’m so excited to be back and teaching first grade this year. One of my favorite parts of teaching is building relationships with my students and their families. I want our classroom to be a place where kids feel safe, loved, and excited to learn. I truly believe that when families and teachers work together, we can help our students thrive!
