Each week, I will provide the weekly vocabulary so you and your child can review it at home. This will help your child actively participate in class.

It is very important to review the vocabulary, especially if your child will be attending kindergarten next year, as this will help strengthen their academic readiness.

Cada semana colocaré el vocabulario correspondiente para que usted y su hijo/a lo repasen en casa. Esto les ayudará a participar activamente en clase.

Es muy importante que repasen el vocabulario, especialmente si su hijo/a irá a kínder el próximo año, ya que esto fortalecerá su preparación académica.

Dear Families

Last week, we completed our unit on seasons. This week, we are excited to begin a new unit all about insects! We will start with ants, followed by bees, ladybugs, butterflies, and spiders.

You can support your child at home by asking them each day, “What did you learn today?” and by reviewing the weekly vocabulary for each insect.

Our weekly structure for each insect will be:

• Monday: ¿Cuáles son sus partes? (What are its parts?)

• Tuesday: ¿Dónde vive? (Where does it live?)

• Wednesday: ¿Cuáles son sus actividades? (What are its activities?)

• Thursday: ¿Cuál es el ciclo de vida? (What is its life cycle?)

• Friday: Project and review of what we learned

How can you support at home?
Please help your child learn the vocabulary before we begin each insect study. This will help them feel more confident and engaged in class.

La semana pasada terminamos nuestra unidad sobre las estaciones. Esta semana comenzaremos una nueva unidad sobre los insectos. Empezaremos con la hormiga, seguida de la abeja, la mariquita, la mariposa y la araña.

Pueden apoyar a su hijo/a en casa preguntándole cada día: “¿Qué aprendiste hoy?” y repasando el vocabulario semanal de cada insecto.

Nuestra estructura semanal para cada insecto será:

• Lunes: ¿Cuáles son sus partes?

• Martes: ¿Dónde vive?

• Miércoles: ¿Cuáles son sus actividades?

• Jueves: ¿Cuál es su ciclo de vida?
