Unit 5 - Story

Video #9 - "Bright & Sunny" - DUE 2/14/18!

Length: 00:02:30:00 minimum per person (two people min= 5min, etc.)

Description: Very excited to start a new tradition for Senior Video Intern which plays off of our successful "dark and stormy night" project. You must choose a 00:00:15:00 open, then tell a story that matches the genre of the open that you picked.

Pre-Production Requirements: First, you must complete the Bright and Sunny Project Proposal.

Production Requirements: We air these on the Spartan Edition leading up to Valentines Day. Many times a dream sequence works well in this video, or something similar, but you should be able to incorporate clips from videoblocks.com fairly easily. YOU CANNOT USE 100% STOCK FOOTAGE, but mix it in with your own footage if you would like.

Post-Production Requirements: As mentioned in the description, everyone must pick an opening to start with. From there, tell an entertaining video that match the genre of your opening.

Distribution Requirements:Name your project "per_lastname_Bright&Sunny" Export your project as .mov file with the H.264 video codec settings. Then, add your per_lastname_Bright&Sunny project to your DPS Google Drive, and share it with me. (ask me and or see the board to make sure you have the correct Google account for Mr. Laman)

Video #10 - "Commercial" - DUE 2/28/18!

Length: 00:00:30:00, or 00:01:00:00 if working with a partner - Time must be exact. This is essential. In the real world, your videos have to be specific lengths.

Description: You are taking on the role of an Advertising Agency Producer. Your agency must a spot which has to be EXACTLY 30, or 60 seconds. Not a frame over or a frame less. Make up your own scenario, but think "Super Bowl." You will not have to pay $5 million dollars for your spot to air, but making an epic commercial that you know many people will see is the idea. Yes, we would love to run these on the Spartan Edition if it fits.

Pre-Production Requirements: First, you must complete the :30 Commercial Project Proposal. The Proposal form is virtually a planning document, so for this project you DO NOT need to do a storyboard or shot sheet.

Production Requirements: In our scenario, you are promoting something with a "call to action." You can make up a product or website, but you may also come up with your own real product commercial. (Doritos, Coke, iPhone, etc.)

Post-Production Requirements: This is another area that will be crucial for this project. You may have a lot of footage, you may put your commercial together and it is 50 seconds long. Use your editing skills to make it the required length.

Distribution Requirements: Name your project "per_lastname_Commercial" Export your project as .mov file with the H.264 video codec settings. Then, add your per_lastname_Commercial project to your DPS Google Drive, and share it with me.
