About JFK Counseling Program

Recognized ASCA model program (Ramp)

Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) is a recognition program for individual schools, not districts or school counselors. RAMP helps schools evaluate their school counseling program, discover areas for improvement and enhance the program’s efforts to contribute to student success.

RAMP at JFK

  • John F. Kennedy High School has received the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) designation since 2009.

  • The RAMP designation recognizes schools that are committed to delivering an exemplary school counseling program. Honorees are awarded for aligning their program with the criteria in the ASCA National Model, a framework for a data-informed school counseling program.

  • Research findings indicate fully implemented comprehensive school counseling programs are associated with a range of positive student educational and behavioral outcomes.

  • We are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program for all students.

  • Only 10 schools in Colorado have this distinction. Only two other DPS schools (Lincoln and North High School) earned the RAMP designation in the 2018-2019 school year. JFK is one of two schools in Colorado that is a four-time champ.
