HOW TO CREATE CITATIONS
Most citations include the following basic information
Author(s)
Title
Source (Such as place of publication and publisher for books; or title, volume, issue number, and pages numbers for periodicals.)
Date
DOI or URL
Information will be arranged differently based on the style guide you are required to use. You may also need additional identifying information depending on the type of material and/or style guide being used.
Citation Tools
Online citation building tools can also be used to assist in the creation of citations.
Many are found inside research databases and library catalogs. The tool may be located in different places depending on the database you are using, but it is usually symbolized by quotation marks or a pencil.
Citation Builder on Auraria Library's website is available for free to use.
EasyBib is also available to build free MLA citations. Other styles are not available for free with this resource.

DON'T FORGET…
Always remember to double check the accuracy of your citations. Your citations may still have errors even when you use a citation generating tool. Check your citations using the style guide for your required style (APA, MLA, or Chicago) or visit PurdueOwl.
