OUR MISSION
The George Washington Library strives to be the literacy hub of the school as students are taught to effectively use information and prepare to become lifelong learners. We accomplish this mission by:
Providing access to informational materials in a variety of formats and media.
Promoting 21st Century learning skills for all members of the school community through collaboration, instruction, and support.
Providing a welcoming environment conducive to studying, learning, and developing information seeking skills.
Collaborating with teachers to develop educational strategies to meet the information needs of students and to augment teaching.
Supporting the school’s curriculum and reading initiatives.
Stimulating interest in reading for pleasure by offering a variety of popular reading materials.

Library Environment and Policies
In support of your academic success, we strive to maintain a productive learning environment for reading, researching, studying, and constructive collaboration. To help us achieve this, we need you to adhere to the following rules:
You may come to the library at any time if you have an excused/off period, but please sign in at the circulation desk when entering the library.
During class time, you MUST have a written pass signed by a teacher giving you permission to be in the Library.
The library is a safe space for all; Please be respectful and kind to each other, to staff and to the space.
Please maintain appropriate library etiquette: converse in quiet voices, use appropriate language, take phone calls in the hall, use headphones, do not eat, clean up after yourself.
If you are off-task, loud, or disturbing others, you may be asked to leave.
Students and staff can check out up to five items for a period of three weeks. Loan limits can be extended as needed upon request.
