Lincoln Douglas

Lincoln Douglas is 1x1 value debate. In this event, you'll debate moral issues related to law, criminal justice, the US Constitution, international politics, and much more. What do we owe each other? What does justice require of us? How do we know our policy choices are the right ones? If you've ever wondered about these questions, L/D may be the right event for you!

I'm Daniel, your coach, and I'm a former national circuit L/D debater at a top 10 national program. I'm now a bioethicist and a lawyer so I'm about as a close to a professional value debater as one can get -- L/D literally changed my life and I love sharing the joy and passion I have for value debate!

The squad started L/D in the 2023-24 season and by the end of the year we were consistently breaking to out-rounds, including at both the state championship and the national qualifiers. 

In 2025, our LD captain Irene finished 2nd in the 5A Colorado State Championship!
