Regular Meeting Routine, Schedule, and Structure

The team meets weekly. Team members should have availability to attend at least 80% of all scheduled meetings to provide consistency around action planning and tracking progress. Meetings should include an agenda, minutes, defined roles, and a current action plan.

One day a week is reserved for MTSS work. Core members will use that day to assess program efficacy, review students on a rotation between HS and MS. Intervention meetings should be scheduled and have representation from the list of members. Planned interventions and associated notations/ documentation will be kept accessible to teams and departments.

MTSS Team Meeting Schedule

Weekly Meeting: Tuesdays (tentative)

Core Members: Julio Contreras, Alicia Deselms, Frank Roman

Intervention Team Members: MTSS Coordinator and/or School Administrator, Behavior Specialist, Social worker, Counselor, Classroom Teachers, Addiction specialist, SPED, School nurse, Attendance (Membership is outlined in the MTSS Leadership/ Intervention Team link)


*Other MTSS Members will be scheduled between the hours of 9:00 am to 11:00 am (High School) and 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm (middle school) depending on the case under review.

High School Morning: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.


8:00 am to 8:45 am- Review of HS. students who have been referred to MTSS will be pre-reviewed to determine if grade level have implemented Tier 1 supports/ interventions. A quick review of the applicable data collected will also determine who should be invited to participate in the formal intervention meeting. Then students can be added to the case-load and scheduled. Meetings will be set inviting all applicable parties. Meetings and notes will be documented on the MTSS calendar. This time is also preparation time for HS meetings for the day and any other business.


9:00 am to 11:00 am- Depending on the meeting schedule, this two hour period is dedicated to meetings with key members of MTSS, specialists, students, and parents to develop individual supports for students who have been recommended. From these meetings:

  • A comprehensive plan will be developed that addresses the individual need(s) of the student(s) under review. This is achieved through reviewing the applicable data collected in support of Tier 2 & 3 interventions and consensus from group members.

  • A formal review/check on the plan will be scheduled after a 2 week period. E-mail alerts will be sent to teachers, specialists etc. will be asked to provide updates for reviews.


Middle School Afternoon: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 pm
