Grade Level Team Tier 1 Tracker & Referral System

Guidance for Grade Level Teams:

  • Policy

  • Incentives

  • Quarterly Checks

  • Data Review and Tier 1 Interventions

  • MTSS Referral System (To be decided as a team and sent by team leaders only)

Grade Level Policy:

Each Grade level will receive a basic policy that outlines expectations and accountability for the school year. Elements in the policy, like incentives, will be tailored by the grade level teams at the beginning of the year. All grade levels will be conducting quarterly checks for grades, attendance, and behavior standards to determine eligibility for incentives. This is also one of the methods for identifying students in need of intervention. It is important that students are motivated throughout the school year and finish successfully. Document to be found in the grade level team folder.

Incentives:

Each grade level will decide the appropriate incentives to be given quarterly, as outlined in the grade level policy. Further incentives can be “shout-outs” in the grade level newsletter (example/template can be found in the grade level folder), PBIS incentive tracker (also found in the grade level folder) can help identify students to be recognized by the whole school for exhibiting school values/traits. Quarterly incentives, which students need to be eligible for, are to be outlined by the team in the grade level policy.

Quarterly Checks:

Each grade level team will conduct quarterly checks through reports on grades, behavior, and attendance per grade level policy. Quarterly checks will identify students who are eligible for quarterly incentives (to be decided by grade level teams), and students who need more supports. This will help prevent students from “falling between the cracks.” Tracker to be found in the grade level team folder.

MTSS Referral System:

Grade level teams will meet weekly to document and discuss students of concern. All information and Tier 1 interventions are to be documented in IC by individual teachers and in the Grade Level data tracker (link below). Team leads are responsible for managing the tracker and holding teachers responsible for keeping information updated.
