Meet Señora Coltharp

Queridos Padres de Familia:

    ¡Bienvenidos nuevamente a nuestros cursos escolares! 

     Soy la Sra. Gabriela Coltharp. Es para mí muy grato ser la instructora de los grupos de nuestros chicos de 3ero. y 4to. grados para los cursos de Lecto-Escritura, Estudios Sociales y Desarrollo del lenguaje español (SLD) en la escuela Bryant Webster. Después de los últimos meses de cambios inesperados para todos nosotros, es para mi un verdadero privilegio poder restablecer mi relación con nuestros estudiantes del 4to grado. Ahora tengo el gran placer de empezar a conocer a nuestros  pequeños del 3er. grado. Es un gran honor para mi trabajar y colaborar a su lado con todos Uds. continuando la educación de sus hijos con excelencia y pero muy especialmente mucho cariño!

     He aquí un poco más sobre mi :) ...

     Yo soy de México, dónde está mi madre y hermanos, y donde viví mis primeros 22 años. Aunque ahora he vivido en Denver por más años :).  A mi familia y a mi, nos encanta viajar y lo hacemos frecuentemente a México, Canadá y en los E. U. también! Mis hijos Mitchell y Havilah (ambos estudiantes de medicina), también bilingües, tienen la fortuna de poder servir a la comunidad Hispana en el área metropolitana de Denver. 

    Curiosamente, inicie mi carrera de enseñanza primaria para el distrito escolar de Denver (DPS), precisamente en este plantel. Con anterioridad, yo había trabajado en la educación privada a nivel bachillerato por casi dos décadas. La escuela Bryant Webster me abrió sus puertas hace 6 años ofreciendo el privilegio de servir a sus hijos aquí. Esta escuela bilingüe me ha dado la gran oportunidad de poder ser parte de esta comunidad. Es aquí mismo con Uds. donde gozo al servir, conocer y apoyar académica y personalmente a mis estudiantes y sus familias. Además, me es de gran satisfacción poder compartir con estudiantes, padres de familia, colegas y la administración de la escuela uno de los aspectos de mi vida personal y profesional más preciados para mi, que es mi herencia cultural. 

     Estoy muy animada al contemplar los próximos meses de colaboración, relación y comunicación con Uds, para alcanzar la excelencia y éxito en la educación de los grupos de 3ero. y 4to grados en esta escuela. Verdaderamente espero nos podamos ver y saludar personalmente muy pronto.

Dear 3rd./4th Grade Parents:

    Welcome back to our classes!

     I am Mrs. Gabriela Coltharp, one of the 3rd. & 4th grade team instructors. It is a pleasure to be the Spanish language instructor of the 3rd & 4th. grade students. I teach the Spa Literacy, Social Studies, and Spanish Language Development (SLD). After facing the unforeseen global changes, it has been my true privilege to be able to reestablish my relationship with our 4th grade students. Now, I have the great pleasure of getting to know our little ones from the 3rd. grade. It is quite an honor for me to work and collaborate by your side with all of you, continuing the education of your children with excellence and mucho carino!!!

     Here's a little more about me :) ...

     I am from Mexico, where my mother and brothers lived, and where I lived my first 22 years of life, even Though, I have lived in Denver for more years :). My family and I love to travel and we do it frequently to Mexico, Canada and around the U.S. as well:)! My son, Mitchell and my daughter, Havilah (both medical students), also bilingual, are just as fortunate to be able to serve the Hispanic community in the Denver metro area.

    Interestingly, I began my elementary teaching career for the Denver School District (DPS), precisely on this campus. Previously, I had worked in private education at the high school level for almost two decades. Bryant Webster School opened its doors to me 6 years ago offering the privilege of serving your children here. This bilingual school has given me the great opportunity to be part of this community. It is right here with you that I enjoy serving, getting to know, and supporting students academically and personally. In addition, it gives me great satisfaction to be able to share with students, parents, colleagues and the school administrators one of the aspects of my personal and professional life that is most precious to me, which is my cultural heritage.

     I am very encouraged to contemplate the next months of collaboration, relationship and communication with you, to achieve excellence and success in the education of the 3rd. and 4th grade groups at this school. I really hope to see you guys soon:).
