Social Studies
Inquire Ed
Our first Unit will focus on Colorado History and our inquiry question...
How can we help tell the story of our state?
We are focusing on Problem vs. Solution
Here are are few things you can do to support your student at home.
Parent Tips for Home:
• Help your child clearly identify a problem they may be facing.
• Before tackling a task or problem, discuss with your child how they will resolve it.
• Explain to your child that not all solutions will work for every problem, and it is important to be flexible and try different approaches if the first solution doesn’t work.
• Work on problem-solving activities like completing puzzles, playing games, and creating recipes together.

SPECIAL SPOTLIGHT — MUSIC
This week’s Artist of the Week that all grade levels have been listening to is Broadway legend Audra McDonald. Check out the songs here!
ECE connected their classroom unit of construction to the music room. They learned about tools, vehicles, and working together (plus they got to use the Bear Paw Creek stretchy band and make paper plate steering wheels!)
Kindergarten has been working on a March/Lullaby unit. They are able to describe and identify both. Ask them about the game we’ve been playing, The Old Gray Cat is Sleeping.
First Grade has really impressed me in music! They are playing three different musical parts together on Orff instruments to the song “Rain, Rain.” They are also pros at reading and identifying Sol and Mi on the staff.
Second Grade traveled to Colombia this week, learning “El Pescador” and “La Piraguaga” for the Musical Explorers program. We did some research on Colombia’s geography and learned about the longest river in the country, the Magdalena.
Third Grade is finishing up their recorder unit by playing “Fais Do Do” on their instruments. They have been working on listening to each other play and giving specific compliments and suggestions to the performer.
Fourth and Fifth Grade are ending their recorder unit with the song “Problems.” Witnessing students transfer their knowledge of musical notation and rhythm to actual performance and composition is deeply rewarding. The genuine excitement they express (shouting “Let’s go!!!”) after passing a recorder assessment is a testament to their growth and dedication.

BROMWELL PTA CORNER
VOLUNTEERS OF THE WEEK: GIRLS ON THE RUN COACHES: Becky Ralston, Crissy Accordino, Veronica Grengs & Tito Javier!
This week we’re celebrating the incredible team behind Bromwell’s Girls on the Run program — Becky Ralston, Crissy Accordino, Jadiel “Tito” Javier, and Veronica Grengs! Together they are coaching 26 Bromwell girls this season, helping build confidence, teamwork, and a love of movement.
Becky, Crissy, and Veronica are all in their second year coaching, while Tito joined the team this year after running with the group last season and wanting to get more involved. Beyond GOTR, this group contributes to Bromwell in countless ways — from PTA leadership roles, room parenting, and helping with events like the Book Fair and Movie Night, to volunteering in the library, chaperoning field trips, supporting multicultural initiatives, and even bringing hands-on science lessons to classrooms. Tito also serves our school daily as a Special Education teacher and helps lead staff announcements.
We are so grateful for this amazing crew for empowering our Bromwell girls and for the many ways they support our school community. Thank you for all you do!
Community Update: Proposed Rezoning Near Bromwell
At a recent meeting, nearby neighbors shared information about a proposed rezoning and redevelopment at 2625 E. 3rd Avenue (the current dance school site), adjacent to Bromwell.
The proposal would allow for a higher-density, mixed-use building. Some neighbors have raised questions about traffic, parking, and student safety during drop-off and pick-up times.
Families who would like to learn more can read the neighbors’ letter (attached) and review the rezoning application here:
We encourage families to stay informed and engaged in conversations that impact our school community.
Did you Know: Our Bromwell Community Sponsors have contributed over $13,000 toward our fundraising goals this year. If you know a local business interested in supporting Bromwell, please email fundraising@bromwellpta.org.
Thank you to all of our sponsors!
Curious why we need to fundraise or want to read past PTA meeting minutes? Visit bromwellpta.org — you’ll find details and more information there!
