Parents and carers of students who are practising self isolation are expected to:
familiarise & encourage their child/ren in attempting the set tasks for their grade
inform the school if any technical/connection issues are experienced prior to commencing/during the process
support their child/ren to understand task expectations before they start tasks
encourage their child/ren maintain high level handwriting standards (eg neat handwriting, writing from left to right etc)
define a space for your child to work in
provide daily plans uploaded to the remote learning platforms
structure daily tasks at grade level demonstrating a continuity of learning - using student friendly language
provide feedback to students when possible via remote learning platforms.
respond to student work in a timely manner, predominantly between the hours of 8:30am-3:00pm.
Learning tasks shared via the remote learning platforms are available for students who:
are self isolating due to medical instructions
are self isolating due to medical instructions for immediate family members
are at home following Government advice
These tasks are NOT for students:
who are UNWELL themselves i.e. sick day
on pre-approved leave entitlements i.e. holidays
Students practising self isolation are expected to:
ATTEMPT the daily schedule to the best of their ability
SUBMIT their work to their classroom teacher via the remote learning platform
Apply work habits as if you were at school i.e. spelling, book presentation, writing left to right, neat handwriting.
Use their school email address and account when completing learning and contacting staff.
We dedicate the first half of a day as Prime Learning Time. Here we aim to teach Religion, Literacy and Numeracy.
Within prime learning time, it is important/beneficial to have breaks which include movement.
