Q) Is my child’s health in danger by sending them to school?
Catholic Schools in NSW remain safe environments for both students and teachers. Regular cleaning, increased hygiene practices amongst students and teachers as well as social distancing measures are all contributing to your child’s advanced wellbeing.
Q) Are there measures in place to protect teachers from becoming infected with COVID-19 in the workplace?
Less students in school allows for smaller class sizes. Staff are also being advised to not congregate in staffrooms and similar areas of the school. Students and staff are also being provided increased supplies of hand sanitiser and soaps.
Q) Can we have confirmation that schools are remaining open for children of essential services workers?
Catholic Schools in NSW will continue to remain open at all school operational times for families who need to send their children to school.
Q) Can we choose to continue to home school or do we have to send our kids back?
Parents will continue to be informed at a school and system level as to when the determination has been made that students should return to face-to-face learning in a full-time capacity. There is currently no obligation to send your child back to school and students will not be punished academically for not learning via the face-to-face method.
What do I do if our household has more than one student and only one device?
A family roster may need to be implemented to share the device between your children. Some tasks do require internet while others do not. Learning tasks can be handwritten into student's Home Learning Book that can be photographed and later uploaded onto the class' learning platform. Ensure that the device is fully charged at the end of every day. Patience is the key.
Is my child required to complete all set work for each day?
It is an expectation that students engage in online learning and attempt the daily schedule to the best of their ability.
How do I contact my child's teacher?
Within this website on the contacts page you will find a link to the teacher's email. If contacting a teacher/s via email please be mindful that you may not receive a response immediately. We encourage that this communication please remain positive and professional, this is not the forum for negative comments. It can be used for seeking clarification, yet its main purpose is for teachers to provide direct feedback on student work.
What do I do if my child does not understand the learning task?
Take time to re-read the instructions provided by the teacher and check Google Classroom (Yr 3-6) or Seesaw (K-2) for any supporting resources or Links. Still experiencing difficulties? Contact your child's teacher.
What do I do if my child is sick?
We understand that there will be times when online learning cannot be completed. If your child is unwell, please allow them time to rest and recover. Please update your child's attendance through the Compass Portal.
Are parents allowed on the school site?
The safety and well-being of the community is our key priority and at this time we ask that parents do not enter the school playground. Drop off and pick up via John Therry grounds is still available and encouraged as the safest physical distancing option. Parents can pick their children up from the gate closest to the St Anne Hall.
