DISABILITY ADJUSTMENTS
Parents of students who currently receive provisions for school-based assessments will be contacted by Mrs Dash after the practice tests have concluded. We have applied what we believe are appropriate provisions to each student and will monitor the effectiveness of these provisions during the practice tests.
From there, Mrs Dash (Learning Support Coordinator) will provide Parents/Guardians with the paperwork that needs to be completed to access these provisions, or more appropriate ones, for the official NAPLAN tests.
This paperwork will be issued to parents of identified students in Week 1 of Term 2 and needs to be returned by 5 May 2022 for these provisions to be added to the NAPLAN testing system. Without this form submitted, students will access the tests under standard conditions.
EXEMPTION & WITHDRAWAL FROM NAPLAN
All students across Australia are expected to participate in NAPLAN, however, a formal exemption may be granted for a student with a disability that severely limits their capacity to participate in the assessment.
At St Benedict’s, we encourage all students to participate in NAPLAN. If you feel you need to discuss an exemption or withdrawal, please make contact with Mr Shelton or Mrs Piatek directly before the end of Term 1.
