My artwork was inspired by the scripture passage, 'The Birth of Jesus', which is a story of love and hope. My painting is all about love, the love that Mary and Joseph wrapped Jesus in. Mary and Joseph didn’t expect to have Jesus, and at the time, it was looked down upon to have a child before marriage. But Mary and Joseph believed in God and loved Jesus with all their heart.
The media I chose to use for my artwork was acrylic paint because this would enable me to show depth in emotion. My artwork is titled 'A Baby Wrapped in Love', and I used embroidery as a symbol of love and compassion. The paint colours I used were quite simple, so the embroidery would stand out.
My spiritual connection to my painting really inspired me while I was creating my artwork. I felt connected to my painting because of how my parents love and care for me. I also connect to my painting because of how I feel loved in my school community.
