The World History II course is truly a modern and a global course. Throughout the year, we will better understand today's world by tracing the key events and themes of the last three hundred years, from the Enlightenment through the Cold War. In addition, this course will build upon the skills you developed in 9th grade, and help you continue to develop critical thinking, reading, and writing skills necessary to become expert historians and successful students. Throughout the year, I also hope to help you build organization and time-management skills you can take with you after you leave my classroom.
As we traverse the globe, we will also be considering key questions:
We will also look at visual arts, listen to music, and read literature from the societies and historical periods we are studying in order to view history from different perspectives and see how culture reflects the political and economic situation at any given time in history.
Below you can find the orientation sheet for this course. As we move throughout the year, you will also find individual syllabi for each unit of study.
