Dover High School CyberTigers 8075 mission is to build community and skills in: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Marketing, and Mathematics, by offering a space where students can participate with peers in a safe environment to collaborate in creating a functional robot to compete against other schools worldwide.
Dover High School had its first robotics club debut in 2020 and later entered the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) as team number 8075. Since then, our team has competed in 8 competitions and won 5 awards across our 5 years of competing.
Our purpose as a team But the greatest award has been the experience working with each other as a team, supporting each other's efforts in achieving our team goals.
This year, our club has evolved from a small robotics group into a full-fledged robotics team - the CyberTigers 8075. We have now taken a giant leap forward by entering the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) as team number 8075. This is the highest technological level in FIRST Robotics where we will be required to build and program huge robots to will compete with schools from in and around North Jersey. We have accepted sponsorship and engineering assistance from Picatinny Arsenal and are meeting 3-5 days a week throughout the school year.
The benefits of being in a Robotics team aids students; to get into better colleges, to receive scholarships, acquire advanced occupations, and so forth. In this club, we spend time with peers who have many ideas that could potentially be beneficial to the school, community, and maybe even the world. Through problem solving, creative thinking, and collaborating with peers and mentors students can advance their high school career and future.
A real life example of a student that benefited from his high school’s Robotics Team is a man named Grant Dalton. His participation in his high school’s robotics team sparked an interest in the engineering field. He followed this passion which led him to go to college and receive a degree in mechanical engineering. Grant now works here in Picatinny Arsenal and works directly with the Dover High School Robotics Team.
