Poster Elements At-A-Glance
All poster elements are evaluated for inclusion in your poster display by a "yes or no," as well as by likert scale of 1 to 5 (1 = lowest, 5 = highest):
Title: Is it catchy and accurate? Can it be seen from a distance? Are the author and university listed below the author?
Introduction: Does everything in the intro make sense and have a purpose? Is the overall purpose of the study introduced? At least one empirical paragraph with citation? Written in paragraph form.
Hypotheses: Are the hypotheses listed either in their own section or as part of the introduction? Are they clear, and do they stand out on the poster? (This is something people will want to find quickly on your poster!) May be bullet pointed.
Methods: Are the participant details provided (N, gender, age, any other demographics)? Are the methods described briefly, but in enough detail that you can understand the results? (E.g., do you know what a high and low score indicates? Do you know what each scale measures?) Are the procedures listed briefly and clearly? May be bullet pointed.
Results: Are the results clearly and accurately written in text and visually displayed (through figures)? Are the correct numbers used, and the correct tests described? Are all statistical symbols (F, t, r, p) italicized? Do result statements refer to their appropriate figure number? (e.g. “Figure 1 – a positive correlation was found between…”) ARE ALL FIGURES NUMBERED, TITLED and CITED? May be bullet pointed.
Discussion: Does the discussion help make sense of the findings? Are there limitations and directions for future research in this section? May be bullet pointed.
The text font is large enough to be seen a few feet away from the poster, and the poster is readable and easy to follow.
The poster was proofread and includes a contact email and IRB #
