"The Salt and Pepper Talks". Graduate thesis in History: "The Salt and Pepper Talks was a program created by African American students in order to bring people together whowere conducting violence against one another on a regular basis. The conversations during the Salt and Pepper Talks were one of the few times that students of the white and black communities came together to communicate about the issues that led to their conflict. The communities of Marin City and Sausalito experienced their own Salt and Pepper conversations from 1964-1970 through the creation and failure of attempted integration. Twenty-five oral histories along with numerous primary sources illuminate what desegregation was like in Sausalito and the West, a geography seldom associated with the civil rights movement."
