Communicate with your professor to verify that hours committed to these events will count toward your service hours for class.

Strengthening Communities
LOCATION: CDE First Floor, Conference Room 123 (Dominican Library Bldg)
Advocating with Immigrant Families in Schools and Communities in Service-Learning. RSVP HERE
This will be a supportive space to share your service-learning experience working with immigrant families. We will also discuss important scenarios where we may need to exercise our rights in the community and schools. Our Latino Studies minor students will provide key resources and guide us through interactive scenarios.
Multicultural Center of Marin Presents: César Chávez Day
LOCATION: MCM, 709 5th Ave, San Rafael, CA 94901
This event will feature live music, food, and interactive stations focused on herbalism, art, dancing, and teach-ins that celebrate the legacy of César Chávez and community empowerment. Please let us know if you would like to participate or volunteer - ALL DOMINICAN STUDENTS WANTED!

Free Film Screening and Q&A with Dr. Polliebith-Melander, moderated by Dr. Rosalie Chen “exiled” is an ethnographic film on the deportation of Southeast Asian Refugees. It explores the myriad struggles of Cambodian refugees as they survived the Vietnam War, the Khmer Rouge, relocation to the U.S., and navigating the criminal justice and immigration systems. De-Segregation and Equity Series
Nov 12th, (at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, MPR) "The District's De-Segregation Work & Commitment to Student Success." Join us for a historical presentation by David Duncan, PhD Candidate of History at UCSC, BBC's 1970 documentary "Man Alive: The Mood of America," and a panel discussion. Doors open at 5pm, dinner and reception is from 5-6pm, and the program is from 6-8pm. This event is hosted by the Sausalito Marin City School District & Partners.
