Collaborative Funding Opportunities
The Center has identified some high-potential, collaborative funding opportunities to be explored with existing and potential partner non-profit organizations, government agencies, and public school districts. Contact Center staff if interested in further discussions.
Rationale: Existing Gaps in Parent Engagement and Youth Development/Mentorship, supporting pathways to college and career that Dominican is already engaged in bridging

Co-create and co-manage programs in the areas of:
Translation services-parent/teacher conferences etc.
Parent Literacy/ESL and engagement curriculum
Youth development and mentorship
Mental health education, Occupational therapy
Trauma-informed and restorative practices
Rational: Shifting paradigm in all sectors requires leadership and staff with training in practices that prioritize community interests, input, and participation.

Opportunities:
Career Pathways/Workforce Development: County of Marin has a summer internship program for undergraduates in Marin county so that the County can build their local workforce. The goal is that after graduation, students who seek to remain local in Marin would be prospects as County of Marin employees.
Student apprenticeship and career training in non-profit and public service sectors.
Pathways created from classroom community engagement to internship/apprenticeship.
Rationale: Potential for funding is high due to the aging population in the county and needs to address social isolation, and ageism.
Potential Partnerships: Kaiser Permanente, Marin Aging & Adult Services, Alzheimer's Association, State Public Health Department, Vivalon
Opportunities: :
Establish pathway programs to introduce youth to behavioral health careers and facilitate admittance into formalized training programs.
Engage youth to develop and implement peer-driven behavioral health programming in rural communities.
Develop innovative, multi-sectoral approaches to ensure the continued availability of RCORP-Pathways supported activities in the target rural service area.https://www.hrsa.gov/grants/find-funding/HRSA-25-093
Students receive stipends or scholarships that offset tuition and reduce need for institutional aid.
Partner with clinics or senior service agencies on fee-based health education programming where Dominican provides student interns and/or curricular modules.
Use Dominican's programs for sessions and classes (ie. art therapy) to engage seniors in meaningful activities.
OT services can be increased in all clinics with the addition of 8 hr/wk supervisor to each clinic to oversee 40/hrs/wk OT student
Provide culturally responsive workshops, data collection and analysis to current and well-established Partners: Marin County Community Clinics, Vivalon, Ritter Center, Behavioral Health: Canal Alliance Social Services.
Corporate and Social Responsibility
Rationale:
Corporations often need measurable community impact. Dominican already provides that infrastructure (Wakeforest University’s Ready 7 Model).

Dominican offers fee-based training in community engagement, culturally responsive, participatory practices and leadership, Asset-based Community Development.
Leadership and Team development by ILS’ Office of Executive Education. Non-profit leadership and management training in community impact.
Community Orgs could sponsor Dominican students as fellows, paying small stipends or program fees in exchange for student project support.
Local Companies could sponsor student projects such as bilingual outreach and health promotion campaigns.
Participatory Research and Community Impact Evaluation Contracts. Corporations with ESG, CSR, or philanthropic portfolios increasingly hire universities for:

Neighborhood and resource mapping
Landscape analysis
Program evaluation
Co-designed research with affected communities
