Housing & Res-Life

ROOM & BOARD REFUND INFORMATION

For those students living on-campus for the spring term who have chosen to move-out, the university will be applying a prorated room and board (meal plan) credit to those residential student's accounts. The prorated amount reflects 40% of the semester charge for room and 55% for meal plan, and will vary based on the room type (single, double, triple, townhome) and the specific meal plan (10, 14, 19). Please see the chart below for details.

Students who have returned home but are not able to collect personal belongings left in their room will be eligible for this refund, assuming that an arrangement can be made to remove your personal belongings in the coming weeks. The Department of Housing and Residence Life will follow-up with those students to explore options for retrieval and/or removal of student personal belongings.

IMPORTANT: Students who petitioned and were approved to remain on campus for the remainder of the semester are not eligible for this room and board credit, and will be responsible for all associated room and board charges for the duration of the semester.

How the Room and Board Credit Will Work:

  • Students will have the option to receive the credit this semester, or defer the credit to September 1, 2020 and receive an additional $500 credit at that time, to be applied to their Fall 2020 bill.

  • Student’s will be asked to complete this ONLINE FORM to indicate their choice by May 15, 2020 in order to receive the credit.

  • A credit will be posted to the student’s Spring 2020 account on May 29, 2020, if they elect to forgo the additional $500 credit towards their Fall 2020 bill. The Spring credit will be applied to the current outstanding balance – if there is no balance, a refund will be processed.

We ask that you please be patient with our offices as we work through this unprecedented event.
