Evidence of Teaching and Learning of the 21st Century Skills
The Department of Education is committed to developing the 21st-century skills in our teacher candidates. We aim to facilitate a furthering of their personal use of these skills, as well as an ability to facilitate development with their K-12 students. To that end, we expect teacher candidates to be planning for each of these skills within their lessons, modeling these skills within their teaching, and reflecting on their use and implementation. We have provided examples below of how this learning may appear in classrooms.
Please note that these skills are often combined—and should be combined—within one lesson. This is particularly common with Communication and Collaboration.
