Successful students will be able to:
· Analyse media languages and identify their historic and technological origins
· Develop a cross-disciplinary approach to the art that brings together technology-culture-aesthetic and complex systems of production and presentation
· Carry out expressively relevant projects with the use of the most suitable technologies
This course explores the intertwining between technological changes and artistic research, in particular as linked to the use of digital tools in fashion starting with the first aesthetic experimentations. It analyses phenomena and practices that are linked with new fashion technologies concerning manipulation, interaction, immersion, and new exhibition criteria. It investigates the contaminations of the contemporary digital language of fashion, as well as its links with other media and cultural areas (such as visual arts, architecture, design, advertising images, and multimedia).
