This course guides the student in the identification of useful elements to create a fashion story. Starting with a historic-aesthetic analysis in the field of fashion communication, the students investigate, through an analysis of different phenomena, the flow of changes and contaminations that compose the contemporary fashion language and its links with other media and cultural areas in the digital world.
The total CFA credits for this course are 6
Successful students will be able to:
Understand the theoretical principles of communication and fashion language.
Understand the methodology of fashion phenomenology.
Apply all the acquired knowledge in research work.
This course analyses the contaminations and evolution of fashion communication, starting from the recent past until today. The study focuses on historical elements that belong to fashion communication, complemented by the in-depth analysis of the codes and communication languages of contemporary brands. It covers images and their manipulation and consumption from the beginning of the industrial era to the current developments in technology and communication media.
The course is completed with an in-depth analysis of fashion responsibility and awareness, focusing on the contemporary and digital idea of sustainability.
