Theoretical/project based
This course aims at exploring the contemporary artistic practice, both as the outcome of individual work, and as collective projects. Through project workshops and meetings with international artists, the students enhance their expressive skills and experiment with group work in researching and creating cross-disciplinary artistic projects.
The total credits for this course are 12, divided as follows:
VISUAL ARTS 2: 9 CFA
CURATORIAL STUDIES: 3 CFA
Successful students will be able to:
Analyze different linguistic and expressive forms that are hegemonic in this field, to develop innovative and less conventional approaches: from performances to sound, from archive formats to installations
Create a contemporary work of art in an international professional context
Acquire thorough and comprehensive knowledge of materials and technologies that are used in contemporary visual arts
Devise a communication plan and all the critical system that surround the creation of the artwork
Publicly exhibit their work
VISUAL ARTS 2:
Design of the concept
Planning of the exhibition development
Creation of the artwork
Conception and design of the exhibition
Writing of communication material and catalogue
CURATORIAL STUDIES:

This is a theoretical/project based course Over the course, the students will carry out didactic activities that are functional to achieving the learning goals, that in both modules may include:
Classroom lectures
Exercises and revisions
Field trips
Development of individual projects
Individual study and research
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools for detailed study
Assessment is based on the overall competence of the students and may include:
Oral exam
Written exam
Submission of papers, projects or research works
