APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course starts with the study of photography as a preferential expressive media to understand the contemporary imagination, as well as the anthropological and social research. The students are encouraged to develop personal or group projects, experimenting with photo and video techniques.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 CFA credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Develop deep understanding of the historic, artistic, cultural, social and economic roots of contemporary photography
Apply historic research tools to the search for project references
Enhance their practical and analytical skills to be used in the creation of images
History of photography
Visual culture and related historic contexts
Geopolitical context and contemporary visual arts
Design and production of a visual project
This is a theoretical/project based course. Over the course, the students will carry out didactic activities that are functional to achieving the learning goals, that in all modules may include:
Classroom lectures
Exercises and revisions
Field trips
Development of individual projects
Individual study and research
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools for detailed study
Assessment is based on the overall competence of the students and may include:
Oral exam
Written exam
Submission of papers, projects or research work
