The College to Career Center Writing Personal Statements Guide

Walk-ins are welcome, but preference is given to writers with an appointment. To make an appointment, visit our scheduling management system at doane.mywconline.com, and sign-in using your Doane email address. You'll need to register in the system on your first visit to the site.
Writing consultants are available to help students organize and revise application materials for graduate/professional school, such as personal statements and writing samples. Students are encouraged to make appointments with the writing consultants well in advance of application deadlines to ensure adequate time for the revision process.
Instructions: Create a Google Doc for recording ideas for your personal statement, a statement outline, and drafts of your statement by making a copy of THIS DOCUMENT. Save the document in your Google Drive in a place you can find it. Using the right panel of this website, select the 'Insert' tab. Scroll down to 'Docs' and click on it. Find the 'Personal Statement' document you just saved and select it. Click 'Insert'. You can delete this panel and the example document below when you have inserted your own doc.
