The Story of God & Man

First,  to understand human dignity we must know its background.  It all started when God decided to create wonderful things in the universe.  According to Staff (n.d.),  on the book Genesis chapter 1:26-27, God created humans on day 6. He created men by His image & likeness so He created male and female.  

But what does it mean to be created in God's image?  

According to our lesson, we are not created with the use of His physical image but in a way that we contain the qualities of God.  Also according to a famous theologist John Piper, God created us to show how Great He is. God gave us qualities that give us sovereignty over all creation that God made (Piper, 2023). In addition, God gave us the qualities to be rational, to love, to choose, to choose what we have to do in life and we are the only living beings on earth that have dignity.  Human dignity shows that we are the only beings who can give and show respect to each other. This includes respecting each other's opinions, decisions, and rights as human beings (Müller, 2020).
