The 8th Linguistic Society of the Philippines International Conference (LSPIC 2026) will be held onsite on April 23–25, 2026 at West Visayas State University, Iloilo City, Philippines, with the theme, “Charting Future-Proof Paths in Linguistics and Language Education.”
LSPIC 2026 will bring together linguists, educators, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to explore innovative and future-ready directions in linguistics and language education.
LSPIC 2026 is hosted by the Linguistic Society of the Philippines and West Visayas State University.
The 7th Linguistic Society of the Philippines International Conference, Language through the Ages, Across the Regions will focus on theorizing and reimagining national and regional languages through interface studies on language, culture, literature, digital spaces, online discourses, and language education. Varying perspectives on incidence of language regions, linguistic distinctiveness, regional authority, internationalization of education and multilingual presence, language governmentality in Philippine Education Policy, language preservation and revitalization, revaluing national literature and regional literatures, regional analysis of dominant and minority literatures, are welcome but not limited to the scope of these issues.
LSPIC 2025 will be substantiated with studies from various disciplines under the umbrella of Humanities which will altogether lead to meaningful discussions and conversations about language studies and the greater intention of bridging disciplinary islands in theorizing issues on national and regional languages and cultures.
