The 8th Linguistic Society of the Philippines International Conference (LSPIC 2026) will be held onsite on April 23–25, 2026 at West Visayas State University, Iloilo City, Philippines, with the theme, “Charting Future-Proof Paths in Linguistics and Language Education.”
LSPIC 2026 will bring together linguists, educators, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to explore innovative and future-ready directions in linguistics and language education.

The 8th Linguistic Society of the Philippines International Conference (LSPIC 2026), with the theme “Charting Future-Proof Paths in Linguistics and Language Education,” will foreground theoretical and applied discussions anchored on core and emerging areas of linguistic inquiry and language education. The conference will highlight scholarship in language description and documentation, language policy and planning, World Englishes and Philippine English, discourse analysis, corpus-based studies, sociolinguistics, ethnolinguistics, and forensic linguistics. It will also feature studies in second and foreign language teaching, pedagogy, assessment, and professional development in English Language Teaching, as well as technology-mediated language use and learning.
The conference welcomes diverse perspectives on technology and language, including digital communication, online discourses, and multimodal and transmodal language practices in education and society. In line with the conference theme, LSPIC 2026 encourages research that examines how linguistic theory and practice respond to rapidly evolving global, regional, and digital contexts. Special attention is also given to Visayas Studies, including research on Visayan languages, linguistic applications, cultural and worldview perspectives, and language-related scholarship relevant to the Visayas and its island communities.
