Dean’s List
The Dean’s Honor List recognizes superior scholastic achievement. The requirements for qualification are the following:
Carry a minimum course load of 12 academic units, unless less than 12 units are indicated in their flowchart or curriculum for that specific term.
Not have a grade below 2.0 in any academic course
Not have a failure in any course, including NSTP, PERSEF, IPERSEF, LASARE, Lasallian Studies, and other courses with Pass or Fail grades and zero-credit
Not have been found guilty of cheating or academic dishonesty and/or discipline offenses involving behavior unbecoming of a Lasallian such as commission of the act as defined on Section 5.3.1.15 (Section on Student Discipline) of the Student Handbook within the term
Have a GPA of at least 3.000
1st DL: 3.40 to 4.0
2nd DL: 3.00 to 3.39
Jose Rizal Honor Society
Students who are included in the Dean’s First Honors List for the first six (6) consecutive terms shall be automatically admitted as candidate-members for the Jose Rizal Honor Society.
Upon graduation, undergraduate students who have remained on the Dean’s First Honors List for all terms of their program at the University shall be admitted to full membership in the Jose Rizal Society and shall receive a special Jose Rizal Honors Award.
Graduation Honors
Grades in Pass or Fail courses and those with zero credit do not count in the computation of the cumulative GPA in determining eligibility to graduate with honors.
Students with a failing grade for any academic or non-academic course, and/or found guilty of cheating or academic dishonesty and/or discipline offenses involving behavior unbecoming of a Lasallian such as commission of the act as defined on Section 5.3.1.15 (Section on Student Discipline) of this Handbook are disqualified from graduating with honors.
The GPA of a graduating student refers to his/ her cumulative GPA. The following cumulative GPA requirements apply to students graduating with honors:
Summa Cum Laude 3.800
Magna Cum Laude 3.600
Cum Laude 3.400
Honorable Mention 3.200
Do units of an audit class count towards the unit requirement for Dean's List?
Yes, the audit class is counted in the 12-unit requirement.
Will a grade of W in a non-academic course disqualify me from Latin honors?
Yes, non-academic courses may not be included in the GPA computation, but they must be passed.
Will dropping a course affect my eligibility for honors?
If the course is voluntarily withdrawn by the student, it will not. It will however disqualify the student if they receive a grade of W or 6.5 given by their professor.
