Welcome to the DLS Ski Club homepage! Here, you'll get to know who we are and what we do. We are De La Salle High School's most popular and well-known club, with over 100 new members joining every year. We pride ourselves on being "The Best Club on Winton Drive" and providing the "Best Day Ever!"
The club takes 2-3 trips per school year during the second semester. We visit our main 3 resorts: Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley), Northstar, and Sugar Bowl. Trips are one day and typically take place on Saturdays, lasting all day, departing DLS at around 5 am and returning at around 8 pm. Sun up to sun down, our trips are full days that don't disappoint! Each trip maxes out at about 40-50 members, and everyone becomes instant friends. Every trip forms a special bond, and we become a little family, getting to know each other and sharing the trip experience together. Every member meets new people from all class levels from both CHS and DLS. Before you know it, instant friendships form.
Safety is always our first priority, and if we need to cancel or reschedule a trip due to inclement weather or unpleasant skiing or riding conditions, we will. If we are en route to a resort and road and/or weather conditions aren't up to par, we may divert to a different resort. Communication is very important to us, and we will do everything we can to make sure trips are smooth and stress-free.
We are grateful for the chance to take these amazing trips each year. Without our dedicated leadership team, administration staff, and of course, our moderator, Spencer Shively, none of this would be possible. We hope you join us on our next trip and to see you on the slopes with us!
The Ski Club's mission is to bring together students who share a passion for skiing and snowboarding by providing a fun, safe, and inclusive opportunity to hit the slopes. Our goal is to build a welcoming community where members of all skill levels can come together to enjoy the mountain together. Through an organized trip, social events, and meetings, we aim to make it more accessible for De La Salle and Carondelet students to connect and enjoy the slopes with others that share a similar passion for skiing and snowboarding.
This club is only to release that stress from school for a little bit and have fun, laugh, eat together, and have friendly competitions. Also just a place to chill and relax after a long day.
