Welcome!

My name is Mrs. Amy Seymour and I am excited to be your child’s 5th grade teacher

This year your child may find that they have more responsibility than in previous years. Students will be expected to complete assignments, care for devices, attend meetings, participate in discussions, complete lessons daily, and read each evening.

Parental involvement is also an important part of student success.  I encourage you to ask your child questions about his/her day, check assignments nightly, encourage responsible school behavior, and keep in contact with me regarding any questions or concerns.  Together, we will ensure your child has a successful fifth grade year!

Exploring

We let our curiosity drive our learning by asking questions and discovering  new things. We aren't afraid to get our hands dirty as we observe the world around us and make adjustments based on successes and mistakes.

Playing

Role playing during social studies helps us develop an understanding of the complexity of past situations, because we are actually taking part in the historical event.  It allows us to care about the people in the past because we identify with parts our classmates play.

Working together, building community, and following the Dolphin Way!
