The 2022 8th Grade Washington D.C. Trip is May 7th – 10th.
FINAL WASHINGTON D.C.
PARENT/STUDENT MEETING!
Wednesday, May 4th at 7:00pm at SEG in the New Gym.
Made up of student & teacher photo submissions, Created by Mrs. Mattucci.
1. Make sure the filled out white WorldStrides luggage tags are secured on the student's checked bag suitcase and on their carry on.
Group Name: S.E. Gross
2. The carry-on bag/backpack should be packed and ready to go - as if that's the student's only bag for the day. It's going to be cold and rainy when we get there on Saturday. Like it is here now!
3. Make sure they have the free yellow cinch, drawstring bags with them inside their carry-on. THIS IS NOT A CARRY-ON! They will use this for day touring.
The yellow cinch, drawstring bags needs to be worn while out touring all times!
CHECK THE WEATHER in DC! Click on link!
4. The suitcase is for when they get to the hotel. We very much prefer they do not need to go into their suitcase UNTIL they get to the hotel.
5. The Blue Lanyard & Name Tag: I should have gone over this with you at the meeting, but was accidentally overlooked.
The Blue lanyard and name tag needs to be worn while traveling at all times! It has the emergency WorldAssist # on the back 1-800-999-4542.
I gave the the students directions for labeling their name tag, in a secure, safe manner: NO FULL NAMES!
a. Student's initials.
b. S.E.G.
c. Bus number 1 or 2
d. Chaperone's initials.
(R. Begley, J. Zimmerman, J. Thompson, J. Accardi, K. McShane, J. Steele, M. Mattucci.)
6. For anyone who recently has had Covid: Make sure the families of your child's roommates have been notified of your child's health updates regarding Covid.
7. Gluten people: Pack some food/snacks accordingly for him or her.
8. Spending money: Recommended between $100 - $150, though the trip IS all inclusive.
9. Make sure you know when your child needs to be at Gross on Saturday morning and when they are returning on Tuesday.
10. Please make sure your child is at school on Wednesday.
