Your first grader works VERY HARD in school all day and needs the opportunity to play and spend time with family after school. Therefore, there will not be formal homework worksheets, packets, or calendars coming home this school year.
Instead, I have some general "at-home practice" suggestions that will remain the same throughout the school year. As much as your family schedule allows, students should do the following things daily.
Read, read, read! Students need to practice reading themselves and be read to as much as possible.
Practice sight words! Each student's sight words are based on his/her reading level. Each time I complete reading level assessments, I will send home sight words based on that assessment for your child to practice.
Practice math facts through sums of 10.
